Case Summary Reports
Our MDs offer a comprehensive review of medical records and imaging in any case, and will summarize pertinent medical facts in an easy-to-understand and objective manner. Depending on the purpose for the summary, we can tailor the report to be concise (highlighting only major salient points), or a detailed chronology of events. We will also make note of any confounding risk factors, pre-existing conditions, and other medical facts that may be relevant in determining causation or liability.
Review for Merit
Our physicians will review and analyze relevant documents and medical records (including imaging) to assess the strengths and weaknesses of a case, which can ultimately be used to determine merit. Such services allow the legal counsel to evaluate a case from the outset so that financial resources and time is not wasted on cases without merit. We keep our fees reasonable so that you can seek our assistance upfront without breaking the bank.
Medical Research
Medical literature research can be a daunting and time-intensive endeavor. However, our licensed physicians are facile with medical literature reviews and can provide the legal team with key pieces of information and references to papers that can add significant value to any medical case. In certain situations, uncovering just one critical paper in the medical literature can entirely alter the outcome of a case.
Mass Tort Case Reviews
We hold a strong track record in mass tort/class action pharmaceutical and medical device settlements. Our MDs have reviewed over 5,000 mass tort cases for various settlements, including Zyprexa, Vioxx, Celebrex, Bextra, and Avandia. With our dedicated growing staff of physician reviewers, we can perform large-scale case reviews and provide a complete analysis of the medical records expeditiously. In addition, we can rapidly assist the legal team with identifying medical records that could help to qualify a particular case.
Settlement Allocation
In addition to performing medical record reviews, we also assist law firms with development of point systems/grids for allocation of aggregate funds in mass tort product liability settlements. While some mass tort settlements clearly define how funds shall be allocated among plaintiffs, other aggregate settlements require thoughtful distribution of settlement funds by the legal counsel. Our physicians can work with the legal team to develop algorithms to ensure equitable distribution of settlement funds based solely on medical facts.
